"Dad, am I a witch?" The 8 year old girl in green make up and a old fashioned witch's costumes asks. Franklin looks at his daughter and laughs. "You sure look like one. I think you will make a great witch this Halloween." Diane shakes her head. "No, I mean am I a REAL witch. Those things i've done, there like magic….bad magic." Diane frowns at the thought of her abilities. Franklin bends down to his daughter's level. He puts a hand on her shoulder and tries to put on a comforting smile. "You were born with an ability that you, and anyone else for that matter, does not fully understand. You made mistakes. That is only human. You care about the harm you can do. You are not a bad witch. " Diane nods her head and smiles. Franklin stands up to reach for the wolf mask on the hall table. He puts it on, turns to Diane, and growls. "But if you are a witch, then I must go on a witch hunt." And then Franklin howls. Diane giggles as she runs past her father and down the hall. Franklin spins around to chase after his daughter. The two run from room to room, Diane giggling, trying not to bump into furniture, and her father howling after her. They race up stairs. Diane turns into her room and shuts the door. Franklin can still hear her giggling inside. He begins to huff and puff loudly. He scratches at the door. "I'm coming to get you." Franklin says as he open the door. He does a quick scan of the room and sees Diane in a corner, back to her father, and still giggling. Franklin creeps up to her, still purposely heavy breathing. Without turning around Diane speaks. "You should never corner a witch. You never know what they will do." Diane turns to face her father with a sinister smile and narrow eyes. Franklin pauses in his tracks. He utters a word, "No…" But before he could finish speaking, Diane cuts him off saying, "Be afraid." A level of terror Franklin had never felt before fills him. He sees his daughter as a monster and screams. He tries to back away. Instead, he falls on his ass. He then scoots himself to an opposite corner. Where he hugs his legs and buries his face in his knees. Franklin sobs, "Go away! Leave me alone!" The smile drops from Diane's face. What has she done? She rushes over to her father and tries to reach out to comfort him. Franklin flails out and screams, "No, Go away!" Diane's eyes begin to tear up. She wipes away at them, smearing her make up. "Don't be afraid, Dad." "Leave me alone!" Franklin responds. Diane eyes starts to sting. She tries to blink away the tears and then narrows her eyes. She points at her father and with a trembling voice commands, "Don't be afraid!" And then adds with a sob, "Please." Franklin continues to cry. The command doesn't work. Diane watches as her father, her guardian, the one that is suppose to protect her, cowers in fear of his daughter. Diane comes to the conclusion that she is a bad witch.
