Calling My Name

I stare into Oblivion and smile,
But, I don't know if the smile's mine.
I feel you moving behind my eyes.
My soul is in your wake.
Your heart is in love,
But, is it enough?
I see you move the pendent in my hand.
I can hear you whisper from the catacombs of fire.
Calling out to me for reprieve,
Yet, I cannot grant that to you.
Oblivion is our home.
If I am to leave, I must let go of you.
Then we will both be cursed to wander in our worlds alone.
A life without touch.
A heart without beating.
Speech without sound.
Eyes that see nothing but darkness.
My smile still graces my face.
Painted there as a picture.
The bleakness of happiness is what I know.
As I walk this earth, I am unseen.
The world looks over me like a shadow.
You know my heart while others,
Do not even know my face.
My life is cold.
Oblivion welcomes me.
God begs me not to go,
But I cannot leave you.
I feel myself smile.
I take your hand and
We walk into Oblivion together.
