"Sensory Processing Disorder is a frustrating disorder because it is silent."

This goes hand & hand with my other SPD post. For me, this is where the "wrought with guilt" factor comes into play. I've have said all of these things to both my children - some more than others, but all more than I can bear to admit.
Parenting, in general, is a continuous lesson in patience...but, the patience required to parent a child with SPD (or ANY special need) is infinitely intensified. It's like a broken record...the exact same struggles & scenarios every day, multiple times a day. Or housework -no matter how many times you clean the kitchen or do laundry, you turn around and there's more. It often feels futile & hopeless. And some days, I fail miserably. Luckily, I have mastered the art of turning my own melt-downs into teachable moments.
So thankful that God's mercies are new each morning and that He never fails His children (cuz I sure do).
