Chapter 1- Ruins

Nothing but ruins were left. Everything changed when those things attacked. Nobody really knew where they came from or what their purpose was but there's one thing everyone knew, they were deadly and they came to kill. They weren't really alive or at least it didn't seem like it. They were nothing but an empty shell. No real blood,  just a black liquid and no organs.  The humans called them dolls because of that. They looked terrifying. Sharp teeth, long fingers, long limbs. No human features. That didn't mean they were unkillable though. Only some people survived their attack but they were still roaming the cities. They were hunting humans. They were many. It was like an invasion. To make it worse the survivors had to fight for supplies.  Everyone was an enemy.  Trust was a rare thing but there were some people who were still able to trust others. Sometimes the best people are also the youngest people. This is the story of the 17 year old Yannick and that 14 year old Lucy. They both survived together. They met each other when they were trying to get food. She was scared and didn't trust him but he gave her food and cared about her so she started trusting him. Years later they arrived at the 6th District and found a place to stay for the night. The only thing they still needed was food and some water.

He was searching the ruins of an old, long abandoned house. The fridge was empty.  “Why did I even look here? It would have been a surprise if the fridge wasn't empty” he thought. He continued searching the house. “Where's the basement?” he thought. He went into a room that looked like it once was the living room. He saw a door on the way there and opened it. Stairs leading down into a dark basement.“Well, that was easy” he thought while going down into the basement. “Wow it smells like something died down here.” he said to himself. He found some cans of food and stuffed them in his bag.  There was some clean water too and he took it with him as well. “Ok not too bad. Time to leave this place” he thought and went up the stairs again. He didn't like searching ruins for supplies. He didn't want to run into other survivors. He left the house and he was kind of glad that he couldn't see anyone on the abandoned streets. He was glad that there weren't any dolls around as well. 

He smelled it before he saw it. A corpse. Rotting on the side of the road. “Agh I will never get used to this smell”. Even though the smell was terrible, he searched the body. He didn't find much but he found a knife. “That should be useful. I can give this to Lucy, she still needs something to defend herself” he thought and put the knife in his bag. He continued walking back to an old house at the other side if the city. They wanted to stay there for the night. He arrived there but he couldnt see the blue haired girl.  He loWhat ked around in the room when he saw that she was laying on the old sofa, hiding under the blanket. “I'm back you don't have to hide under the blanket anymore” he said and she got up from the sofa.  “Finally you're back. I heard dolls outside and I was really scared” she said and started shaking just from thinking about it. He hugged her. “It's ok now. I'm sorry for leaving you alone. I found something for you to defend yourself with” he said and pulled the knife out of his bag. “So I can go with you to search for supplies next time?” she asked. “No it's too dangerous out there. I'm sorry but I don't want to put you into danger”. She looked at him and said “I'm scared when you just leave. Isn't it more dangerous if you leave me alone?”. “I mean..  You have a good point there. You know what, you can come with me next time and we'll see how that goes, ok?” he asked. “Yes that's ok. Thank you” she answered. “Ok but now let's eat something and then we should sleep”. After they ate they laid down to sleep. She was sleeping on the sofa and he was sleeping on the floor. It was late at night when she woke up because she heard something outside. She got scared again so she got up from the sofa and laid down next to him, hugging him tightly.
