The flicker of the lights,
the goosebumps on you're neck, that paranoid feeling that you never forget.
with your pupils rolled all the way to the side of you're eyes,
racing side to side.
You're heart starts to race,
and you run and hide.
But there is nowhere you can go, just dead ends, and under you're blanket and pillow.
Not even in your dreams will it leave you alone;
in you're subconscious it dwells, as you let it roam.
That flickering of the lights, and the goosebumps on your neck.
No matter how much you fight, you still sit and fret.
They don't understand why you can't just 'play pretend', but they're not being stalked by you're haunting little 'friend.'

"Why can't I just be normal?"
"Why am I so flawed?"
"Why can't I just be happy and not listen to my negative thoughts?"
But when there's nobody around, which it always seems to be;
My little 'friend' is there, and keeps me from being lonely.
Never does it rest, that feeling you can't outrun;
Even when you sleep,
It ruins all the fun.
Not even in your dreams,
Will it leave you alone.
That paranoid feeling you thought you'd outgrown,
