She smiles at me as I help her up, her hand falling to her round belly.
I smile and ask how long? She says six months.
She brings me to her balcony. 
She thinks she has been forgiven.
But as she turns and walks away,
I slip behind her and give her a little push
Sending her spiralling down
Down down down
Into the cold deep water
And I wonder if she feels as cold as I did 
When I found out that she had been the one responsible for the loss of my child.

'I forgive you', I whisper into the still lake below.
