It was a dull grey. The town covered in white. The beauty seems to be here, Alas, it's gone, tonight. There was joy in the sun's glow, The warmth of it on my skin, But now it seems to be lukewarm, Burrowing within. The way is gone, I'm lost again, I'm nothing Without my best friend. The way is gone, More pain within, I'm nothing If I can't begin again. They don't understand, Don't go ahead and try, So when you see the tears spilling, Don't you cry. There's nothing worse, Than the pity of friends, When all I want to do Is start back up again. The way is gone, The ice is thin, I'm nothing Without my best friend. I live again, Yet they do not, Why do they all go Before I can let go? The motor's dead, Covered in frost. I want to start again, But at what kind of cost? I've got the keys, Sit in the car, I try to reach But the pedals are always too far. Take my soul, Rip it apart, There's nothing left in My cold, empty, black heart. So tell me why, You had to go, Time can't heal this wound, It's cut far too low. There's nothing left, No shred of hope. I just hope you know, I can't let you go.
