It was not long before Sarah was off the ship. The town was named Chiten. It is a small city. She felt wobbly when she first stepped off the ship. She had to take a few moments to ground herself before she could take off into the city. The streets paths were uneven stones and more than once when Sarah was distracted with everything around her she would trip having to catch herself. The buildings were made if a mixture of stone and wood. Some of the first floor windows had bars on them. The houses stood at about two stories high though some were three.

The streets were bustling with activity. She kept her bag close to her chest and a watchful eye any any who came to close. This city reminded Sarah of the city her father and taken her and Theo to visit once when she was 13. During that visit Theo and Sarah spent a week fending for themselves, stealing food while there father drank most of the profits he had earned. They had to walk back because their father forgot to save money for the wagon and blamed Theo and Sarah for spending it.

Both that town and Chiten had the same walks of life. From the beggars in the street to the wealthy walking around with the noses held high.

Sarah passed by market stalls selling various goods and smelled freshly cooked bread from a bakery. After walking for some time she found someone housing. The owner was a grey haired woman with spectacles that made her eyes look very large. She offered a room that had one other lodger for a cheaper price which Sarah gladly accepted. She planned to find a temporary job as she searched for her family. With not much to go on and with two years ahead of her they could be anywhere. From what Sarah had heard she was in the Eastern side it was a large continent. She was told that to the north was a desert.

When she went to her room she saw two bed neatly made, one side had a chest open with clothes sloppily laid out. Sarah placed her own bag in the chest provided for her. The walls matched the sheets in an off white color. The wooden floors creaked with each step. Sarah sat on the bed testing out the lumpy firm mattress. However, the bed was more comfortable than the ones on the ship.

She felt hopeful in finding her family and the fear of being in a new place was starting to set in. She took three large deep breaths letting them out slowly as her mother had told her to do so many times before when she was fearful of doing something new. The day was growing late and she was getting tired. Without changing she took off her shoes and laid day. It took only a few moments for her to fall into a deep sleep. It was the best rest she had gotten in over five months.
