Alex groaned and tried rubbing her temples, the pain excruciating. She could barely move. "Alex you piece of S*IT! You better get the f*ck up before I beat you black-and-f*cking-blue!" Katherine glared down at her daughter. Alex didn't stand. Katherine got up and walked over, forcing Alex up by her hair. Alex whimpered, tears continuously falling to the ground. She could feel the warm substance begin to drip even faster than before. Katherine muttered something underneath her breath before dragging Alex into the kitchen and grabbing a wet, dirty rag. She placed it off to the side and grabbed some rubbing alcohol, holding Alex still with her other hand. She then drenched the rag in alcohol and instantly began dabbing the rag onto Alex's wound, applying more and more pressure as she did. "You f*cking piece of s*it," she murmured, checking the clock that hung over the oven. It was already 9:00 PM. She glanced over at the window and saw headlights steadily growing larger. Her husband was home. He was rather early, too. Katherine panicked and quickly put everything away, leaving Alex where she stood. Katherine took out a few bandages and began placing them on Alex's wound. "If anyone asks, you fell down the stairs, got it?" Katherine 'asked' through clenched teeth. Alex nodded just as the door opened. Instead of her father, a taller, leaner figure was at the doorway, features hidden by shadows that the darkness outside cast. What the hell?
