(No Title Yet) Chapter 3; Elizabeth Read Count : 128

Category : Books-Fiction

Sub Category : YoungAdult
School. A place of learning. A place to make friends. Ha. Well not for me. School for me has always been hard. Especially since my parents never let me go to a deaf school. I was always the weird girl that had someone following her around and making weird symbols with their hands and body.

A bright light flashes and I open my eyes. Only to then immediately close them again and cover them with my arms.

'I don't wanna go to school'

I open my eyes and hit the alarm. Then roll over trying to get some more sleep. Next thing I know two bodies are on top of me and attacking. I sit up and one of them falls off the bed. Leaving the other sitting at my feet. I point at the door and he jumps off the bed and runs.

'Guess this means I have to get up.'

Sighing, I get out of bed and head to my closet to look for an outfit.
-------Setting change---------
"How do I look?" I sign quickly then turn in a circle. I am wearing a simple dress. White at the top with a pink skirt. Plus a jean jacket and flats. I stop spinning and look at my mom awaiting her answer. A woman is standing behind her.

'A translator'

"You look great Eliza." She smiles and gives me a hug. I quickly hug her back then as she lets go, I run to the hallway, grabbing my bag and looking in the mirror.
My hair is pulled back and pinned with a pink bow.
Sighing I turn and go back to my mom.
"I love you. I will try my best to have a great day." I nod at the translator. Who smiles and begins walking to the door.
"Love you too."
My mother signs back and I head out the door. Seeing the bus stop in the distance my eyes widen and I blink a few times.

' So many kids....'

"Are you okay?" The translator asks. I nod and continue walking but then a few seconds later, I stop once more because my neighbor is leaning against the bus stop sign, his friends surrounding him. But.....

He's looking directly at me. And it wasn't a nice look.
