#474 GETTING THE MEDICINE DOWN Read Count : 130

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
My mother always said
To take your medicine
And you will feel better
Soon after you get it in.

Sometimes a cherry flavor,
Which I did not mind.
But other times it tasted
Anything but fine.

It always seemed to be that
The one that tasted the best
Was the one you needed
The least of all the rest.

Usually it was a liquid
When I was very young,
But soon pills grew bigger
As so did my tongue.

Now putting a pill in my mouth
And trying to get it down
Is sure to make my smile
Turn upside down and frown.
