You know the rhyme about the six wives of Henry Vlll. 
     
        Divorced, Beheaded, Died
        Divorced, Beheaded, Survived.
 
Here's my perspective of this whole reign of Henry Vlll. Everyone knows he wanted a son. A son to continue the Tudor reign. Only three of his six wives gave him a child. Only one of the three gave him his awaited son.


Catherine of Aragon: Was Henry's first wife. She was from Aragon in Spain. She was Henry's older brother, Arthur's widow. She had some miscarriages until she gave birth to a stillborn child. Mary 1 a.k.a. Bloody Mary. Was divorced after Henry created his own church of Anglicanism.


Anne Boleyn: Was Henry's second wife. She didn't enter his bed until she was queen. Afterwards she promised Henry a son. Instead she had a daughter. Elizabeth 1. Afterwards she had three miscarriages. Henry had then  met Jane who had caught his eye. He was soon going to try and divorce Anne until she was falsely accused of witchcraft, adultery, and incest. She was soon beheaded. 

Jane Seymour: Was Henry's third wife. She was married to him right after Anne Boleyn's execution. She had given him a son. Edward Vl. She soon had died afterwards. Henry hadn't remarried for a few years after.


Anne of Cleves: Was Henry's fourth wife. She was a Lutheran princess from Germany. Henry didn't like her face, so he nicknamed her the "Flanders Mare" Her marriage with him didn't even last a year. He had divorced her and she soon became his "belov'd sister in name" He was falling in love with one of her ladies in waiting...


Katherine Howard: Was Henry's fifth wife. She was one of his previous wife's ladies in waiting and also happened to be the cousin of Anne Boleyn. She was 17 when she was married to him. Henry had said she was "A rose without a thorn". She soon had an affair with Thomas Culpeper which forced her to be in questioning. She had been beheaded when she was 18.


Catherine Parr: Was Henry's sixth and last wife. She cared for Elizabeth and Edward and Henry's wounded leg from jousting years ago. Afterwards Henry had died at the age of 55. She had gotten remarried. In a year she died from birth complications. Although she did outlive and survive Henry Vlll. 


Soon Edward Vl was taken to the throne at the age of 9. Was soon to die at the age of 15. Religion: Protestant. 

Mary 1 had soon taken the English throne. She burned over 300 protestants which after she died gave her the name "Bloody Mary". Religion: Catholic.

Then Elizabeth 1 had finally taken the throne. Her reign was called the "Golden Age". She ruled a great 47 years and died in 1603. She never married or gave birth to a heir to continue the Tudor family tree. She stated that she was "Married to the throne". Religion: Protestant.
