READ FIRST
[This is an interactive writing project for me and hopefully fun for you readers! You choose which way the story goes by answering a short question at the end of each chapter. The votes are simple, comment what decisions should be made and the first decision to meet five (5) votes or highest in 24 hours will determine how the story goes. Suggestions are welcome and credit will be given if they are used, but there are no promises that I will use them. Enjoy the story! And choose wisely.]

"Dammit, Ubu! That hurt!" The young woman rubbed her head as she looked angrily at her friend. "Why would you do that?"

Ubu laughed and stood as she walked over, gently placing her hand on the injured part of her friend's black wool-like hair.

"I apologize, Kunda. I didn't mean for the ball to go in your direction. Accident, I promise."

"Fine, but you owe me now." Kunda looked up and gave a suspicious smirk. "My mom said there's a festival going on tonight, but I don't want to go on my own and she can't make it because of work."

"Are you asking me on a date? All you have to do is ask." Ubu smiled wide and sat on the floor, rolling the ball back and forth between her hands. "I have time."

As Kunda rolled her eyes, she sat back. "Not that. We have to go to meet someone. I got an email today about someone from high school."

"Oh, great. Old friends."

"No, not that. There's supposed to be a memorial for the principal. He was killed in this car accident a couple of weeks ago and his wife wanted his memorial at this specific carnival."

"That... that is weird on so many levels. Do you know that?"

"Why is it weird?"

"Because his wife wants to bring a sad moment to one of the happiest moments that happen every year. You know what's going to happen?"

"Nope."

"Every year, people are going to think of some dead old guy instead of having fun. He's literally taking the joy out of the only exciting thing that happens in this town."

"Oh please!" The wool-haired young woman yelped out a laugh. "No one's going to think like that." She stood up and stretched, grabbing her jacket to face cold weather. "So you coming? I'm going either way."

[This is the part where you choose; does Ubu go with Kunda or does she go home? Remember, choose wisely.]
