A blank stare awaits, 
though no sense can feel,
The last of Hope arises, 
as fate signs her last deal.

Captivating eyes, 
bred from the purest of forms,
Are now cold and deceitful, 
from the loneliness 
that left her scorned.

What was once that gave light, 
must endure burning again,
With only darkness in her heart, 
it's hard to trust where to begin.

A desperate cry from the past, 
presents a feeling previously unknown,
Fearfully clinging to the thread, 
by which his every breath had been sewn.

Distant memories brought him clarity, jaded words from her mouth,
And promised a future in tribute, 
to when she once had little doubt.

Past her once sought horizon, 
through a focal point made from promise,
A love to unfold like no other, 
founded through words selfless and honest.

Through contract of trust, 
their love will have no edge,
Obligating all expectations, 
with this  very life he has pledged.

For the greatest risk she ever took, 
at her weakest when she breaks and bends,
A most reassuring voice confirms, 
I will PROTECT you and LOVE you...
