Chapter 6: The Hadforth Residence Read Count : 128

Sir Hadforth woke up every morning at dawn and would dress and walk to his mill. If he were entertaining guests he would return at noon otherwise he stayed until late at night. 

Only the cook, butler, house keeper and a scullery maid stayed at the house. While two footmen, and the two maids would arrive on the morning and leave at night. Sir Hadforth did not like having unnecessary people moving about the house while he was there. 

In the morning, the scullery maid, Ellie, would set the fire before Sir Hadforth would wake up. She is a fourteen years old and the daughter of the cook. The cook,Ms. Rose,  was required to make his breakfast and dinner. For all the staff she would take lunch. Ms. Rose was once married but her husband died and Sir Hadforth have her a position when most would have turned her away. Mr. Trug, the butler was required to dress Sir Hadforth. The governess, Ms. Fera had convinced Sir Hadforth that it was a requirement of her position to remain within the house hold. 

Daisy and Sarah's job was easy enough. Clean each room, wash laundry, make beds, polish silver wear the usual duties a maid would have. 

Through the next few weeks Daisy and Sarah would fall into a routine. When making beds Sarah would grab the right corner and Daisy would take the left. Sarah would wash one piece of clothing then go hang out up on the line. Then Daisy would take Sarah's seat wash a piece of clothing then hang it and so on. Sarah who showed that she was better at sewing with do so while Daisy would polish. 

All the meanwhile they would laugh and joke and talk of memories. Sarah would talk about her siblings the most. How her brother Theo and her would cause mischief. She would even sing songs that her mother used to sing. 

Daisy would talk about her sister and how they were very close. Her sister was quiet and reserved, much like how there mother was. 

Both found a common ground when they would discuss this father's. They often found themselves agreeing and adding stories. 

Every so often Sir Hadforth would have a gathering of friends for a poker game. It was on this occasion that Sarah first meet Sir Hadforth. This was the first time that she had met him. He was man of roughly thirty years of age. It surprised Sarah that a man of his standing and look would be unwed. He has light brown hair with eyes to match. He has a beard that suited him well. 

More than how he looked and acted Sarah notice something as she helped serve drinks. It was something she had only seen once before when a friend of hers was around Theo. Sarah could see the attraction that Daisy has for Sir Hadforth. She wondered if he knew as well for she was not subtile in the way that she looked at him. 

However, Sarah kept this knowledge to herself. She did not want to pry. Especially when Daisy had not brought the situation herself.
