After many relationships in our lives we often sit back and interpret what their purpose was. Sometimes momenta can bring joyful memories of times that brought fulfilling laughter and others can bring back the detrimental pain. Whether we chose to remember them or not, they still happened. One of the keys to fulfilling your life is to not dwell on the ones that caused pain, but to find their purpose so they can lead you to a path where fewer instances happen. In time we learn that life is going to stick a few good rib shots in on us, knocking us to our knees, and through instinct we get back up. But, there are times that we let it get all too close to the inevitable 10 count. Choosing to stay down from fear or lack of desire can be far more attractive than taking those extra couple seconds to rethink your strategy, and get back up to take more shots to the ribs. When it’s all said a done, as all things will be, your sense of pride and resilience are what keep your core strong. That in itself can change time for you forever. By taking a few extra seconds to shake it off and refocus your vision, you can give yourself enough time to stand up firmly. Because as you will come to see, it leads to the strength it takes to discover the key to happiness in life. As I have gotten older, I learned that reflection is a part of healing, a miracle drug without a co-pay. It’s not wasted time spent or thoughts with no meaning. It is a motivator and will strengthen your soul and its core. That’s where this all begins. Where those rib shots were landing. I remember the day…I was standing on my back deck, at dusk, looking at the inspiring skyline above the tall trees that thickly lined the edge of the backyard. I took in the view, and something paused my usual routine. I saw the shadows of the trees on the grass. (I know time to throw a party, but bear with me a minute.) Above the trees was the start of the Sun’s rays that were desperately reaching like it knew it had only one hour of life left on Earth. I kind of stood back. The “Ah Ha!” moment that you hear about when someone finally figures out a puzzling problem that has been weighing on their mind for some time now…caught me with a showboating jab. I got caught slippin’. Now, I don’t know if we all get one in our life, if any, or if we have the privilege and insight to have many eye opening “Ah-Ha!” moments. What I do know is, I had one, and it made perfect sense. Such OBVIOUS sense. So I looked around. Check, check, yup, and so on. It was ALL around me in plain sight for me to see. There is the saying that “If you want hide something from someone, you put it plain sight.” Well, whatever Creator you believe in, I found out, is a crafty old trickster. I’ll explain shortly what I mean, as it makes you sit down and wonder how life’s biggest secrets are so cleverly right in front of your eyes.
