Chapter 5: Lovely Bones We sit there thinking. Ollie’s pacing back and forth. I know sapphire scared. She doesn’t even know what’s going on. I scoot over to her. She looks at me with her big eyes and hugs me tight. “What’s going on,” she asked. I didn’t know how to explain it to her. Roman walks over to us. “Nothing,” he holds her hand. “Just stay inside at all times. Got it,” he says. “Got it.” She releases her hands and looks outside the window. “Where’s mommy,” she asked. “I don’t or care, she’s the least of my worries,” he says. She looks at Roman so cold. “How can you say that about mommy,” she frowned. “Because you don’t know what she did to us,” he said. His intentions about his mother is beyond what I would about my mother. He without a doubt has so much hatred in him. His starting to show it. “She’s a little girl, Roman,” I say. “Stay out of it, Hope,” he snapped. I just kept quiet. I take sapphire to Ollie’s room to go back to sleep. I come back and sit down. “Hey.” Ollie sits down beside me. “His like this when his upset,” he said. “You sure, cause I think his just bipolar,” I joked. We both laughed. “That too,” he laughs. We watch him outside smoking. “Do you love him,” Ollie asked. “I do, but I’m not sure,” I question my answer. “I can see he likes you, but his not that type of guy who settles down,” he explains. I get upset as if his trying to scheme up something. “Why are you telling me this,” I asked. “So you don’t get hurt. I not trying to put things in your head, but his not what he seems, he says. “His a upir, I know.” “Yes, and half-demon,” he said. “Are you done,” I say. He looks at me. I look at him back giving a “Don’t fuck with me,” Look. “Okay. Just be safe, I care about you too,” he says. “I know.” I get up to check on Roman. He closes his eyes as I walk to him. I sit in front of him. “Roman,” I hold his hands. I take the cigarette out his mouth. He opens his eyes. He glares at me again. “Why do you always come to my rescue,” he chuckled. “Because, I know you’d do the same.” “You sure,” he smirked. I kiss his lips softly. “Positive.” I get up and walk back inside to lay down. We hear growling outside. “Roman get up,” I yelled. Then three wolves came out the woods. “Shit,” he says. They have a stare down. “Come on,” Roman shouts. I run to get Ollie. He wasn’t there. I run back outside. One leaps on Roman. He grabs its jaw and it began to rip open. It cried a pitiful cry. And died there. Another jumps to on Roman. It was in his face drooling on him. I run out. I had to get there attention. “Hey, over here !,” I shouted. “Hope, are you stupid,” Roman shouted. “Yes.” I got its attention. It gave me a smirk. It began running towards me. I knew I could run it into the woods. So I let it following. I was running so fast. I actually felt the rush through my body. Being a vampire had some advantages. I leap over a log, scratching and bruising myself running through twigs. I tripped and had rolled near Oakland Coast cliff. It walked slowly towards me. It was over top of me sniffing my scent. It smiled showing rows of sharp teeth. I never saw a Werewolf like this ever. As it was over top of me, Roman jump of a tree hitting it with a powerful blow to the head. Pg. 27 Apparently my vampire teeth still hasn’t kicked in yet so it kinda sucked. I picked up the werewolf and threw it off the cliff. “Fuck, where’s Ollie,” Roman runs back to the house, and I followed. We stand there, and the last werewolf. His eyes were golden yellow. I knew he was a beta. As it ran towards me. Ollie jump from his roof and turned into a werewolf himself. I was shocked. I know Roman was shocked as well. Ollie turns into a white one. He bites its neck as they struggle back and forth to get each other. The other werewolf had Ollie trapped underneath him. Ollie rolls him off and finished him by biting his neck deeper into his skin. The other wolf looked at Ollie and got up. He retreated. But I hope that didn’t make things worse. “Shit.” I could see Roman was pissed. “Are you fucking kidding me, your one of those things,” he pushed him. Ollie turned back to human, his pants ripped. “I couldn’t tell you,” He said. “But, you can show me your a werewolf now because,” Roman shouted. “It was going to kill hope, I prevented that, you welcome,” Ollie yells. Roman pushes him a again. “Your suppose to be my fucking friend, your suppose to tell me shit like this, remember friends don’t lie, it’s part of the fucking code,” he shoved him into a tree. Ollie pushes him back. “Roman stop,” I yelled. “I kept that ugly werewolf shirt because you gave me that shit for a symbol of our friendship, was that a lie too,” he grabs Ollie. “Dude, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to lie. You were my only friend here, when I moved. When I found out your a vampire I didn’t treat you differently, although we’re natural enemies, I didn’t want to jeopardize our friendship,” Ollie takes his arms of his arm off him. “What are you really,” I say. “An omega. That’s why I’m always alone. I had nobody here because my own pack disowned me, and shame me, he was the only one who didn’t walk away from me,” he explains. I felt confused, but I could understand. His eyes change back to blue. “Roman, his right you shouldn’t be pissed,” I say. He walks off into the woods. “Ollie, I wasn’t honest either,” I say. “I wanted you, because you can make me beta, the alpha can claim you, I’ll be- “I’m a Dhampir,” I say. He looks at me in shock. “Your a vampire too,” he puts his hand over his face. Pg. 28 I grab his arm. “Ollie, don’t go.” He closes his eyes and walks off into a werewolf again. I stand there, by myself and alone. I go inside and grab sapphire. I get in the car and take her home. I sit there in the house waiting for Roman to arrive, but he never did. I listen to the sound of the rain hit the window panes. I here somebody come in the house. It was his mother. “Hey, Ms. Irving,” I say. “Oh, hello dear, how have you been,” she says. “You look cold,” she says. She puts the fire place on with a controller. “Where’s Roman,” she asked. “I dunno, that’s why I’m her waiting for him.” “He left you alone her,” she says. “Not really, I’m here with sapphire I point at her drawling. “Oh, okay, well I’ll fixed you guys something to eat. She goes in the kitchen and gets ready. I couldn’t help to think were Roman could be. I could think of the worst possibility that happen to him, or what his doing. It’s hard to choose between two people that you love. But it’s the your choice that risks it all. Pg. 29
