               Chapter 4: Awaken


I wake up lying on Ramon who’s half asleep. I look around to find myself in the dark. TV was on signal for having it on all day. His moms out on a business trip, and were waiting to go to the carnival. I grab my phone and text Jessica to see where they are. She said she’s with Ollie and there leaving now. I turn around to wake up Roman, but he was gone. The kitchen was cleaned. I walk in after I washed my hair. I see him on the porch. I walk over to him. 
“Whatcha doing,” I asked wrapping my arms around him. 
“Staring at the sunset,” he says. 
“You know what’s weird, why aren’t we affected by the sun,” I asked. 
“Cause where a different type of vampire’s,” he says. I never understood, I always thought we we’re all the same. 
“We should to the carnival, I locked the house, sapphire’s safe,” I say. He agrees and we leave. We arrive at the carnival at eight.

Jessica and Ollie walk towards us. 
“Glad you made it,” Jessica joked. 
“Roman, hasn’t came here since forever, glad your rubbing off on him,” Ollie joked. 
“I’m starting to see you and Jessica have a lot in common,” I joked. 
“Um,” Ollie laughs.  
“We should get this over with, What’s first,” I asked. 
“Bumper cars,” Jessica suggested. 
“I get carsick,” Roman says. I elbow him in the stomach. And give him a look. 
“Ow, fine, Since I truly don’t have a choice,” he says. 
“Thank you,” I smile. We walk around exploring the carnival. I felt like a young teenager again. And I knew Roman did to. I saw how him and Ollie where play fighting, and joking around. 
“They are something else,” Jessica says. 
“Yes, they are,” we laughed. We watch them compete to get a giant teddy bear. Shot bottles, etc. 
“Your an asshole,” Ollie yells. 
“I know,” Roman yelled back. The buzzer went off and Roman got the teddy bear. It had a bow tie. He gave it to me. 
“Oh, thank you,” I say. Hugging it like a real person. 
“That’s so sweet,” Jessica says. 
“I should’ve got it, he didn’t even want it,” Ollie says. We all laugh. Jessica left early due to her curfew. Ollie left with her to drive her home. It was two in the morning and the carnival was closing, it was just me and Roman. I skipped to the candy shop to get me some cotton candy. Roman tagged along to carrying my bear on his shoulders, as we walk around in circles. 
“This was fun,” I tell him. 
“Yeah, It was,” he says. 
“You know you had fun, beats going to the library,” I say. 
“Doing what,” he asked. 
“Reading Romeo and Juliet,” I joke. 
“Ew,” he laughs. 
“What, it’s actually a great story,” I say. 
“Yeah, two star crossed lovers who kill themselves to be with each other, I’d pass,” he laughs. 
“I actually liked it,” I say.  I spin around in my dress, feeling the air rush against me my legs, as the night star sky hovers over me. 
“Don’t you feel free,” I asked. 
“I do actually, free away from my mother,-
“And your problems,” I say. 
“Yeah,” he agreed. He spots a roller coaster and walks me to it. 
“Cmon this is fun,” he says. 
I frown my face, licking my sticky fingers. 
He groans, “when are we ever going to get on this ride without a line.”
“Have you ever been in a line,” I laughed. He drops the teddy bear, and walks towards me. And stares at me, holding my face. 
“What am I thinking,” I say. He puts his hand by his chin to act like his thinking. And stares at me focused. 
“That this night will never end,” he says. I was shocked. I was thinking exactly that that, but I didn’t want him to know. 
I shake my head, “Nope, I’m thinking it’s time to go home,” I say walking to the exit. 
“Ugh, fine. What about teddy,” he points at the ground. 
“Oh yeah, his coming with me,” I laugh. He picks it up and tosses it to me. We leave the carnival walking through the parking lot.

“Let’s get out of here,” he says. We drive until we stop in a empty road. 
I looked at him confused. 
“What are we doing here,” I say. 
“Have you ever driven before ?,” he asked. 
“No, why,” I asked. 
“Well, I’ll teach you,” he says. He gets out the car and stands outside the car door waiting for me. 
“No, Roman you can get in the car,” I stay there eating my cotton candy. He opens the door and tosses my cotton candy in the woods. 
“Roman, what the fuck,” I crossed my arms. 
“I’m not dealing with your tantrums, come on, get out,” he laughs. 
“Or what,” I said like a bad bitch. I was pretty confident, but not convincing. 
“Is that a dare,” he says. 
“Yeah,” I say with confidence. He grabs me out the car. I lie there on the ground. 
“Just wait until I’m as strong as you,” I says licking my fingers. I get in the driver’s seat. 
“I love it when your mad,” he smiles. I give him my “I hate you” Look. I place my hands on the wheel. 
“Step on the gas,” he says. I look at my foot, trying to trust myself. I step in it and was driving slowly. 
“You drive like a old person, gross,” he jokes. 
“It’s my first time,” I say. 
“Hopefully it’s not like that in bed,” he laughs. 
“Actually, I had sex before, your not going to be my first,” I crack a joke myself. 
“Ouch,” he says as if I hurt his feelings. I step in the gas adding more pressure, causing it to go faster. 
“Woah, now your trying to kill us, I like it,” he says. I laugh not looking a deer comes out the woods, I step in the brakes fast. And glass flew in. I look at Roman bleeding on side of his head. 
“Are you okay,” I asked. 
“Yeah, you,” he said. I nod my head yes and hop out the car. I found the deer dead. It was a mother deer. Her baby survived. 
“Oh my god,” I started crying. 
“What’s wrong-,
“Shit,” he says. 
“What are we gonna do, we just can’t leave it here,” I say. 
“We have to, come on,” he says. We drive to a car repair shop around town. We wait until they get him his car fixed. 
“I’m so sorry,” I apologized. 
“It’s fine,” he says. He sits by me on the sidewalk. 
“You hit your head to,” he say wiping the blood off my forehead with his thumb. 
“My arm has glass in it,” I tell him. It healed up as I showed him. 
“Good thing about being a vampire, scars can heal,” he says. We wait for hours. I fall asleep on him.

“I get up, and get in the car, as they bring it out. 
“Thanks, man,” Roman gets in the car. We decided to stay at his house. 
We go inside his bedroom. It was big. I sit down on his king size bed. 
“Nice room,” I say.
“Thanks, it was actually my fathers,” he says. 
“What happen to your father.” He gives me a upset look and continues hanging up his jacket. 
“Sorry, I didn’t mean-
“No, it’s fine. He left me and my sister,” he said.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” He comes and lays down beside me. I run my fingers through his hair. He stares at me intensely. He flips over top of me. Gazing over top of me, he leans down diving into my face as our lips lock. His tongue seems to slip in my mouth slowly and calmly. I wrap my arms around his neck. His hands seem to wonder around my body. He sits up and takes off his shirt. I sit there speechless, just watching as my hands lie there by my head. He undressed me. He begins kissing me from my stomach up.  I bite my lip controlling my patience. 
“Will you let me,” he asked. I was turned on. I nod my head yes. He ties my hands to the bed with my tank top. He rubs my body while sinking his lips into my face. I lightly moan as he goes deeper. I couldn’t control myself. I break threw my tank top and got on top of him. He glares at me in shock as if a girl never took control. I lean kissing him as his deeper inside me. I scream. He smiles. He pulls his knife cutting his finger a little to let blood come out. I couldn’t take the scent of his blood anymore suck the blood off. This was the craziest thing I ever did with a boy before. He opens his mouth and bites my neck. 
I grab the bed sheets and let out a low moan, waiting for him to release. I push him off. “That kinda hurt,” I say. He looks at me and grabs my face. “I’m sorry.” I get off of him. And lie there.

“It’s fine.” I try to catch my breath. He grabs a cigarette from his end table. 
“That’s disgusting,” I say. He lights it up and blows it in my face. “I’m serious,” I take it out his mouth. 
“Have you ever smoked,” he asked.
“No, I haven’t.” He looks at me surprise. “I used vap.” He laughs. 
“Open your mouth,” he said. 
“Why,” I asked. 
“Just do it,” he said. I open my mouth, and he blows the smoke in my mouth. 
“Why would you do that,” I hit him. He busted out laughing. I pick up my clothes off the floor. I go take a shower in his room. I wipe water off my face as the shower shoots it out thinking, I just had sex with him. He made me do it. His temptation was over powering then mine. His a sexual magnet. I should’ve waited. But I was so impatient. “Was it my fault,” I asked myself. I can never control myself. I get out wearing his shirt. He gets dress and I stand there looking at myself in the mirror. 
“What are you looking at,” he grinned. I run my hands through my wet hair. 
“Should I dye my hair.”
“Sure, what color,” he says. 
“Red.” I look at myself. 
“Yeah, but I like it how it is,” he walks to me. 
“Really.”
“Yeah,” he kisses my neck. I slowly push him. 
“No more,” I smiled. 
“Aw, no fun,” he groaned. I just wanna know you better, than in bed. 
“Okay, then what do you wanna talk about,” he says. I look at him, and smile as he puts his hands under his chin as if his listening deeply. 
“Anything,” I say. We get on the bed and we just talk, for hours. I never knew how interesting he was. He was always misunderstood because he was always the rich kid. You don’t know other people’s demons. I understood him more then I ever did. We continued talking until we fall asleep after awhile. I loved it.

I’m awoken by a growling sound at his window. I think Roman heard it to. “What the hell is that noise,” I asked. He looks outside the window. 
“Werewolves.” He grabs me hiding me behind the window. They’re stalking us and we needed to be silent. I look at Roman, his face was intense and frightening. He looked as he was going to kill. Soon the noises behind the house stopped. We get up. They were find. “They were following us,” he runs closing all the blinds and curtains. 
“Shit, I just put us endanger,” he grabs his keys and we head out the door. I ran to sapphire’s room to get  her in the car. I pick her up, placing her in the backseat. 
“Okay, were good.” We head to Ollie’s house since it was the only safest place. I know they were at my house because that’s were my father use to leave, and he was a vampire. And I wasn’t going to risk my mother getting hurt. 
“What’s going on,” sapphire rubs her eyes open. 
“Nothing, go back to sleep,” Roman said. She looks out the window. 
“Where going to a friends house,” I say. She looks at me confused. 
“Hope, your here too,” she gets excited. We arrived at his house and lock the doors. 
“And your saying there after you,” Ollie says upset. 
“You guys don’t understand who your up against. Alpha will kill you. Just wait until the betas tell him your alive,” he says to Roman. 
“They didn’t see me,” he says. 
“But, they can sense you,” he explains. 
“I don’t want it near sapphire,” he says. 
“Can’t you help us,” I asked. Ollie looks at me surprise I’m still living. 
“I can try, but I’m not like them,” he says. I give him a hug. 
“Thank you.” Ollie looks concerned. Knowing his normal, but can help us is strange. But I can tell his hiding something. I don’t want to have to clean up anybody’s bones.
