In case you were not able to read the graphic in the picture window, it says: View of James Comey Favorable 17% Unfavorable 35% Don't Know/No Opinion 48% This shows that at best, 48% of our voting public do not have an opinion on James Comey (how could this even be possible as he is one of the most polorizing people in the public eye). At worst, a large portion of these folks don't even know who he is. The larger the number of those that don't know who he is, the worse it is for our country. Love him, hate him but for Christ's sake at least know who he is. Anyone who cast a vote for any of the candidates in the 2016 presidential election who cannot recognize James Comey should not be casting a vote, period. I suggest that an uninformed voter is a detriment to our democracy. Voting is a right. So is driving a car. You have to show a modicum of basic knowledge and pass a test to drive. Some on the right like to get riled up over imagined illegal voters, wanting them to have picture IDs and more. This is not a real problem if they would just learn the facts. Only a handful of votes, usually less than a hundred, are fradulent in a typical national election. The real problem is people voting with absolutely no knowledge of the issues and those who are clueless on which candidates actually represent their interests. Perhaps we need to have people pass a reasonably simple candidate/issues test before they can cast a vote. I realize that the Citizens United & NRA crowds with unlimited unsourced money will go nuts over this as they rely on their treasured "baffle them with bullshit" formula to keep our voters voting against their own interests whenever possible. Think about having an honest broker, maybe the League of Women Voters, provide a short candidate/issue summary approved by both parties to hand out before a vote is cast. The voter gets asked three quick questions while standing in line. If they get more than one wrong, no vote for you today. Better luck next time! I know this adds a burden to the voting process, but it or something similar, maybe an online tutorial with quiz, would ensure that corrupt, lying, non-qualified candidates like Fake President do not get elected again. Just a thought.
