Rosaline, please awake to the aroma of vanilla scented candles, the sight of a peach Dawn sky and the sound of B.B King's "Lucille," on the radio. Take a moment to breathe in and out, taking in all that is peaceful in this moment. Turn and look out of the window and thank the sky for it's beauty. Toss the thick, floral-patterned cover from off your legs and walk out of your bedroom. Head down the stairs, turn the corner and walk down the corridor until you get to the room where you discover that sweet and pleasing smell of strawberry crepes, fresh golden brown toast and turkey bacon. As you approach that room, who do you see standing there setting up the table for breakfast? Rosaline says with a look of shock and happiness, "Aunt Mabel?" The old, brunette women turns to the frizzy-haired, wide-eyed, freckle-faced girl and says, "Rosaline, dear! You're awake!" Rosaline looked at her aunt as if she'd just seen a shooting star for the first time ever, yet struggling to get her words out, "I, I am awake, aren't I?" Aunt Mabel says, "Yes, sweetheart. Now please, won't you sit down and eat with me now?" "Yes, Auntie Mabel. Of course. But first, allow me to uh, fetch something from my room, will you?" Of course, dear. But hurry back. We wouldn't want the food getting cold on us." Rosaline nodded her head in agreement and raced out of the room, up the stairs. As she came closer to her bedroom, she began to feel a wave of emotions come over her. She gets back up to her room, walks over to her window seat and sits down. She looks outside and before she can say what she needs to say, she becomes distracted by two small mockingbirds that are right outside her window. They begin to chirp at her and stay there for a while just staring back at her. She couldn't help but to think about the fact that her aunt loved these birds and always snapped pictures of them whenever she saw them out and about in her small town. They were in the window at Aunt Mabel's funeral too. She smiles at the birds and they fly off. Rosaline looks up at the sky from her window and says, "God, Jesus, Mary, whoever you may be up there, thank you for giving me this opportunity again to be with my aunt. You listened to my prayer, I knew you would. And I know that I'm actually asleep in my bed right now. I know that I'm dreaming this, but that's what I asked you to allow me to do; dream of the happy moments we shared before she passed. To be able to come back to this house, see my aunt one last time and tell her everything I didn't get to say to her the morning she passed, that's everything to me. You brought me back to my happy place; the home I shared with her whenever I visited her on the weekends. I get a chance to smell those lovely vanilla scented candles that are just as warm and sweet as she is. I always used to tell her that those candles could be used to sum her up. You've given me the chance to tell her that I want to take on the family business at our bakery when I get a little older like she told me she wanted me too. I, I just get to see her again and I can't thank you enough for this. When she looked at me with those beautiful, bright hazel eyes and said the words, "you're awake," I actually felt awake and alive for the first time since her death. I am awake, Aunt Mabel and so are you." Rosaline suddenly hears her aunt yell from downstairs, "Rosaline! Honey, are you all set now?" "Yes Aunt Mabel. I'm ready now," she says as she rushed out of the room back to the kitchen.
