The Valentine's Day,  love was in the air.  Everyone around her was looking happy,  except Trisha.  She wanted this day to end soon.  Preeti was going to propose Rahul and Trisha feared he would accept it.

"Trisha,  Meeting is at 4.00pm. I'll pick you at 2 at the noon. There's a 2 hour drive to the destination.  Get ready by that time.  And, Trisha wear something nice ", Preeti talked over phone.
"Ok,  Preeti.  I'll see you then. ", Trisha said. 
 Trisha looked at her closet,  wondering what to wear.  It was then she noticed a gift packet inside.  She opened it.  Inside the packet was a dress,  which looked so beautiful , and seeing the dress,  Trisha's mouth opened wide .
"Such a beautiful dress? How come it here? ", trisha exclaimed. 
She took the dress in her hand.  A written note fell from it. 
It said, 'Dear Trisha,  wear this today, from your friend, Preeti'
"Is she mad? ", Trisha smiled. 
She got ready soon.  A matching earrings,  a small necklace,  and a simple makeup,  all these made her look beautiful. 
The bell rang. It was Preeti. Trisha opened the door. 
"Wow,  Trisha,  you look awesome ", Preeti exclaimed. 
"Why did you buy me this? ", Trisha asked.
"You didn't liked it? "
"Yes,  I did.  But it looks expensive. "
"It's a present,  don't think of the price. And my bad that I can't dress up since I have to attend the meeting.  There's a party going on near,  you can go there,  and me and Rahul will be there after the meeting. "
"Ok".
"I'm feeling so nervous and excited at the same time.  Finally I am going to confess my love. ", Preeti sounded really happy.

After they reached there,  Preeti went for the meeting.  Trisha, went to the party. She hated to go there alone. But as soon as she reached there,  she was surprised to see Ananya there.  
"Hi,  Ananya,  you here? "
"Hi Trisha,  meet my boyfriend,  Shan. "
"Hi,  shan". Shan smiled back. 
Three of them spend time together.  Trisha frequently looked at the time and her mind was not with her.

It was 4pm and Trisha's heartbeat was increasing. Preeti and Rahul will be there at any time.  
Soon,  she saw them coming.  
Rahul was surprised to see Trisha there. He felt she became more beautiful.  Rahul too looked handsome. 
Suddenly, Trisha's phone rang.  It was a call from her mother.
"My mom is calling,  please excuse me ",  she took one more look at Rahul and went outside. 
"Preeti,  I need to use the washroom,  I'll be there in a minute,  you guys carry on". Rahul said and went to the washroom.

After sometime,  Trisha and Rahul returned back.  
"Preeti,  your eyes look wet.  Are you okay? ", Rahul asked. 
"Yeah,  I'm fine.  Rahul,  I need a favor.  Please drop Trisha home.  I have to go somewhere."
"Preeti,  are you okay? ", Trisha asked. 
Preeti hugged Trisha.  
"Go", she whispered.

Rahul and Trisha got into the car and drove off.  Preeti sat there,  crying out all the pain she felt. She sacrificed her love,  for her best friend. She prayed everything goes right between them.
