"C'mon comrades!" Shouted the Major Yocon as we jogged on the indoor track. All of us in rows placed upon in alphabetical order of our last names. The track was a quarter a mile long. We had been on here for at least ten minutes.

"Okay stop!" He yelled out. "All rookies stand in front of me now!"

I jogged up to him along with three other soldiers. They were a bit taller and older than me like in they're higher twenties. The sergeant took notice of that and march up towards me.

"Miss, how old are you?" He asked.

"I am sixteen, sir!" I answered.

"Eighteen is the minimum age requirement!" M. Yocon spat. "Not sixteen."

"Be careful, sir, that's the commander's favorite's daughter right there!"  Shouted someone within the crowd.

"So you thought you can enter this place at a young age because your parent was close to the commander?" He barked.

I tried to hide my frustration and answered: "He let me in here."

"What kind of special abilities do you have to prove yourself worthy?" He asked.

Commander Shallow came into the track area. "Major Yocon, Digit needs to come with me. She is being transferred to the 2AS.N team."  He glanced at me while I walked over to Commander Shallow. When we left the track, I asked why.

"I put you on the defense team." He sighed then apologized. "Tselynn escorted you to the wrong place because of my own mess up."

   "What's the 2AS.N?" I asked.

"It's for the teammates assigned to stop the hijacked." He replied. He walked towards a room that was mostly like a training center. There was much less people than the Major Yocon had. There was four people; two guys and two girls.

The training center was a simulator that makes you go through obstacles that happens during war. Astral was up there on the simulator. "Major Frainist!" C. Shallow called. Tselynn walked up to us and asked why was I doing here.

"I placed her on the wrong team." He explained. She then rolled her eyes and said: "I think you're getting old."

"Well, I still have 20/20 vision, Major!" He commented.

After the discussion, he left me with Tselynn along with the other troops.

"Sorry about C. Shallow wasting your time of escorting me to the wrong place." I apologized.

She looked at me directly in the eye and said: "That his responsibility, not your's. Time to start training otherwise I will extend your time while others go free.

I nodded and entered the center. We trained for hours in obstacles that can possibly be lethal. Major Frainist shouted phases that none of an average girl would say. "I can waste your time out your day until you impressed me!" That was one them she said.

It was past 2:00 pm when Major Frainist called for a break. We walked up and collapsed against the wall breathing heavily.  Why can't Tselynn go up on these simulators and try it for herself?

"Alright now, it's time for testing. Each one of you will go up and face obstacles while others watch you. If you pass, you can go early. If you fail, you won't leave until you pass." She said. I was kind of exhausted and relieved that I can be free early.  "Aczen, you're first!" She said while a young male that appeared to be in his early twenties with blonde hair and golden eyes.

I watched Pola next and then soon came my turn. "Digit, you're up!"

I nodded and stepped on the simulator metal flooring. "You have no weapons and you helped break prisoners from Quidust's prison that has been bombed is crumbling fast." She said upon the intercom which was across from the center. The training lights dimmed while I saw prisoners running. The ceiling was collapsing from above me. I focused and ran towards the exit and dodged any falling debri emerging into my view.

I was going well until some man hiding his face with grey veil with glowing red eyes appearing through it. He was in assassin like clothing and aimed a gun at me and shoot it. I slide out of the way that only my left wrist got hit. My wrist burned painfully. I didn't try to look at it. My only focus was get the man out of the way before he shoots the prisoners.

Every shot and fire was dodged with my fast reflexes. I then realize I was grabbing him by the throat and slamming him against the wall. I swiped the gun out of his hand; therefore, he was unable to shoot me. I smash him in the wall again and again until I let him drop to the floor. I lowered to the floor and removed the veil. I can see back of the head that he had dark brown hair and flipped him over and saw my father's face. I gasped in shock that I just killed my own father.

Then I felt the building shook and saw more of the ceiling falling down. I got up and ran towards the exit concurrently with streams of tears going down my face. Once I made out of the exit, the simulation faded away and the lights turned bright again.  "Digit, shake it off, I don't want to see those tears. If you probably didn't unmasked the man, you wouldn't even cry.  Never cry on the battlefield; crying makes you look weak!" She growls. "Since this is your first day, I will let you pass. I will not be so generous next round."

How much I wanted to yell at her for setting me up to kill my dad in the simulator; however, I managed to step off the platform and huff out of the center without making a scene.  The worst part: she is my roommate now and highly bet she will lecture me about it later.

Does she still think about me being an idiot of coming to the Space Center Facility after my dad was taken away by Quidust's hijacked machines and I wanted to bring him home?

I was heading back to my dorm to relax from what happened until Aczen saw me in the hallway with dry tears on my face. He stopped me in my tracks. "Hey, are you alright?"

   "Fine..." I bluffed.

"Did Frainist say something to you?"

"Yes, she put my father in the simulator and I killed him. I thought it was a hijacked machine, but noooooooo."

"She is always not a people-lover." He implies. "You seem more like a caring person."

   "I am." I replied.

"I haven't catch your name." He said.

"I am Collette Digit." I answered.

"Oh cool! I am Nimbus Aczen." Aczen said with a smile.

"The worst part that Major Frainist is my roommate." I uttered and he chuckled and said: "Good luck with that!"

"I will try. Thanks for introducing yourself to me and checking me out."  I thanked.

"I am your comrade!" He smiled. "We are suppose to look after for each other. How old are you anyways?"

"What's with everyone asking me that lately?" I mumbled under my breath then glance up at him again. "Sixteen."

"How did you manage to get in here?" He asks.

"My dad used to be close to Shallow and also-" I looked around to find an item that I use my strength to crush with. "Do you have inconsequential items on you?"

"Yeah." He took out a small metal pipe from his pocket. It looked shiny and was a centimeter in width and five inches tall. "That was stuck in my shoe the other day." He then gave it to me. I made the pipe stand up and use my hand that I was holding it with push against it. It started to bend until it eventually snapped like a pencil; a utensil that was used centuries back on Earth to write. We only have to type on projectors now.

"Are you from Earadon?" He asked.

"No." I shook my head. "I am from Stormalite."

"How did you manage to get that strength?" He questions.

"Long story." I smiled lightly. I gaze at his golden eyes that was glowing bright than the lights above us.

"I am going to let you go." He said. "I will see you around and see you in training tomorrow."

I finally went to my dorm. I activated the Bed Pod which was my bed on the top bunk and try to relax after a stressful day of training.
