Sub Category : Suspense/Mystery
Christmas day. I got up quick and packed everything up fast. I picked up the portrait of me and started down the road to my house.

When I arrived it was 2:39p.m. I knocked on the door and waited. Charlotte answered, I pulled her outside to talk to her.
"What do you want!" she snapped.
"To see my daughter on Christmas!" I answered, "what do you think?"
"You're not allowed here," she pulled out her cell phone. I grabbed it and put it in my back pocket.
"This is the last year I'll my daughter, come on!" I pleaded. She looked at me, she frowned and shook her head.
"Fine." she replied.

We entered the house. I looked around, pictures of her new boyfriend were everywhere. I threw up a little inside my mouth.
"Wow, he's ugly." I commented. Charlotte stared at me angrily. She called Evelyn down to see me.

I hugged her tight and kissed her on her cheek. She smiled at me, I smiled back. I showed her the portrait of me. She screamed loudly, Charlotte can rushing in the living room to see what was going on. As soon she saw me giving Evelyn a present, she rolled her eyes and returned back to the kitchen.

"Hey, make sure you take good care of this, ok?" I pointed at the painting.
"Yes sir," she hugged me, " Thank you Daddy!" She smiled more, bigger too. I smiled back, trying to hold back the tears.
"Your welcome Sweety," I got up, "love you."
"Love you too," she answered back.

I walked into the kitchen. Charlotte was drinking some wine. I looked at her, I pulled out her phone and gave it to her. I also pulled out the $150 the manager gave me; she looked at at it then me. I gave her $100.
"What's this for?" she asked.
"Get Evelyn the latest Barbie for me, please." I said.
"It's $125," she walked to the table and picked up a magazine and showed me, "see." I looked. I gave her the $50 and left.
"Just get her it," I paused, "ok?" Charlotte nodded. I left the house, I waved bye to Evelyn, she waved bye back. I walked up the street towards the highway, leaving the city. Then the state.
