He was riding on the road of happiness when he got lost. He accidentally took a wrong turn and landed on the road of regret. There, he found himself riding through memories that he had been trying hard to forget. They were right there in his face. They grew out of cracks in the sidewalk, creeping their way up the bricks of the walls. Their thorns are so menacingly sharp that he knew they would pierce his heart should he fall. Those memories spread endlessly outwards until they were too far away to be seen. But when he stopped to study some closer, he found something nestled in between. There tucked beneath the brambles were memories he had long since forgotten. They were pieces of proof that his lifetime wasn't just made of things that were rotten. He saw beautiful flowers that had been planted now growing steadily from the moment he had been born. He had almost lost sight of the sunlight when he had only remembered his thorns. As he scrambled and stumbled back onto the highway, he realized there was much more to learn. In a world that is fearful of failing, he was glad he made the wrong turn.
