There’s a knock at the door And I spring from my chair. I open the door wide And swing with a flare. There you are with a big smile. I’m all dressed up and ready to go. You hold out your arm for me And lead me off to the picture show. Then there is a delicious dinner And we end up with a dance. I feel so happy and excited As I’m filled with romance. Then it is time to go home And you walk me to the door. But you ask to come in And I see there is more. All night you never said a word But I’ve waited for this minute As you pulled a box from your pocket And I couldn’t wait to see what’s in it.
