Let's read the passage

John 1:1-5,10-14
[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2]The same was in the beginning with God.
[3]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4]In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5]And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
[10]He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[11]He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[12]But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13]Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14]And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Let's look at this passage together
Verses 1&2
Tells us Jesus was always existence and in the presence of God the father.
It tells us Jesus is God the son
Verse 3 tells us he participated in creation
Verse 4&5
Is why I personally do advent
The lighting of the candles helps me to reflect on the true light of the season.
On the one light who is always on even in the darkness of a power outage
And unlike a flashlight 🔦 it don't need batteries
That light is My JESUS
Verse 10 & 11$12
Tells us how the world rejected him.
The Jewish were looking for a savior but they were so caught up with being in bondage by Rome and they wanted a conqueror
But here where God had it planned
Cause they had to reject him so that us the gentiles could accept him.
They had to turn on him
So he could be crucified for our sins.
Verse 13 is pretty simple Jesus was not conceived like you and I was. He was literally the son of God not man.
Verse 14 tells us God became flesh (


That means he felt emotions he laughed he cried he felt pain.
So when we say in flesh that means he understands when we get emotional and when we feel pain.)
He became like us. Cause he loved us.
So today as you make festive and celebrate remember that. Jesus loves you and understands everything you feel.
