Madman’s Lab Read Count : 121

Like the sun shines light
Upon a darkened world
So too does the hoary pane of glass
shine misery unto the emerald flask
That sits on a marble slab
In a dead madman’s lab

It sits alone and abandoned
As if forsaken and condemned by God
The reflection on its surface
An image of a broken photo frame
and spread out ruffled papers
across a ghostly wooden bed
The cinders evidence it was lit aflame
All of which laid on the other side
Of that dusty,
dusky cockroach filled lab

The air is freezing cold
It's like being in a meat locker
that’s negative degrees Celsius
A room once filled with excitement and laughter
is now so ear splittingly silent
that is akin to floating
in the darkest most remote part of the cosmos
ALONE

Time may wait for no man,
but here in this room
time stands still and frozen in place
Like endless war with countless bloodshed
it too has lost all meaning
Like childhood memories
It too induces nostalgia amnesia
So put on your rose tinted glasses
or have Misery shined on you
from that hoary pane of glass
Perception is reality
Freedom never last
You’re a puppet
And nature is your puppeteer
