Jaded eyes peer into mirrors,
Cloaked in silver and glass.
Question upon our minds,
Whom is this person that we see?

Be there a sliver of truth?
Within this image we are seeing?
A small portion that has not been tainted.
When will I recognize?
This being staring back at me?

Changing each day,
Within life’s subtle ways.
A picture that will never be the same.
Eyes that once were wild,
Now appear frightened and mild.

For terrors of this world,
Has taken soul of young girl…

And with sorrow tis has been tamed.
