We prioritize the stuff that stresses us out more than the stuff that calms us down, makes us inwardly re-center. I realize scheduling meditation is in some people’s days, but it’s probably not as high priority as getting the stressful crap done.

We need to make time for ourselves to re-center, recuperate from the stress of the day. Whether that’s carving out time to laugh, even if it’s on the toilet whilst pooping, or meditating, or just hearing ourselves think time, we need it. If you want to take time out to look at pictures that calm you down, do so. If you want to look at pictures of nature, or pictures of cute beings, that’s fine. Just something that calms you down and actually lets you feel more balanced in your day. I think we should make that a priority.

Imagine a more centered person and the decisions they’d make because they’re calm. Imagine that same person, but not centered, lacking sleep, lacking me time, stressed and frazzled and the decision-making then. Very different. We need centering time.
