It all started with her love for music. She would spend hours listening to the radio. Then one day, she heard a voice on the airwaves. A voice so pleasant to the ears and so soothing for the soul. She was drawn to that voice. She listened attentively to every word that he spoke, every topic that he talked about, and the  choice of music that he played. She was hooked. She began following his radio show religiously everyday. The way he presented himself, his wit and wisdom, his sense of humour with just the right touch of cheekiness and flirtation.... she was intrigued. 

"Who is this dude?" she wondered to herself. She knew nothing about him apart from the name he's known as on radio. She didn't even know how he looked like but still, she was hooked.

Then one day, through a twist of fate, their paths crossed at a nightclub called 'Oasis'. She found herself face to face with the man whose voice she had fallen in love with. They were formally introduced by a mutual friend who worked as a DJ there. It was an unexpected encounter. She checked him out good and liked what she saw. They exchanged pleasantries and then parted ways, each went about to do their own thing. She looked around for him later on and was a tad disappointed when she was told he had left. She thought that was that - fate had interfered just so she could put a face to a voice and now that fate had done its job, that's the end of the story.

The next day, she tuned in to his show again. Halfway through, she picked up her phone and shot him a text at the studio. She wasn't expecting anything. She just wanted him to know what she thought of him and his show. At the same time, she wanted to jog his memory to remind him of the very brief encounter they had the night before. She just felt the need to make contact with him.

Words could not express how surprised she was when she heard him read her text message on air. He said something sweet in response to her text which for the life of her she could not remember what he said as she was beyond thrilled and excited. To top it off, he also made a special song dedication to her; a song called 'I Love Your Smile' by Shanice. She was on cloud nine. Still, she wasn't expecting anything.

However, moments later, she heard her phone beep. She checked her phone and it was an incoming text from an unfamiliar number. When she opened the text to read it, she was squealing with joy for the text came from him. He told her that he had taken the liberty to take her phone number from the studio's text switchboard and thought of sending her a proper thank you text from his phone. He also told her that was the one sure way he knows that she too would have his number. She smiled. She liked his style.

That happened thirteen years ago and so much has happened since 2005. All she can say is, yes, he has definitely changed her life.
