Until I witnessed that extravagant face, misfortunes continued.

My two best friends, Lucy and Miles seemed much more prepared than me for the test. Yeah, Lucy was the topper. I was lucky they knew the truth of my father's honesty. Neither did I ever ask for any important notes nor did he ever entertain me.

The geography test was in the 2nd period. We had English in the first. As professor Shirley kept on chanting the names of all the characters from ' Great expectations ' , everyone remained hooked onto their geography books buried between their knees.

' Looks like u have a test today ', professor Shirley said.

' Yes ' , the whole class declared.

' So let's stop it here today. Close ur books and read your books. '

The period continued for the next 10 minutes. Till then, most of us had made a sitting arrangement chart for the test. We had already divided into pairs. Perhaps it'd have been better if we'd rummaged through the pages then.

The test seemed quite easy. Two absolutely impossible things could've happened. Either I had studied real hard, which I hadn't . Or my father had decided to examine what happened when students get an easy question paper. Which never happened.

Maybe, my father had finally decided to have (some) pity on his daughter, doing all chores in the absence of his all efficient wife. Yeah, that made more sense.

As I had finished writing the third answer, I realised a call I heard frequently from behind, especially during tests. I turned my head and met my expectation.

' Dove, what's the normal temperature during August in Sahara? ' , Miles asked.

My father, who I knew was looking at me , considered helping during tests no more than a sin. It was tough choice I made a lot of times . Friend or Father.

I used my trick. I threw down my pen and on the way of picking it up, told my friend the answer. How smart!

We were all told that we'd be getting our results the next day. I had never done so well in geography. I felt really happy .

In the evening, I learnt that grandma had recoverd a bit and mom would soon be home. Dad asked me to get some eggs from the nearby grocery store.

I walked to the store, with a closed umbrella in one hand and checking Lucy's instagram bio in the other. How could this girl be so good with all this. I sometimes ( okay, always) questioned myself. No no... She's my best friend. I mustn't be jealous .

Just as I was about to reach the store, a teenager crossed me. I felt something strange,as if he was emanating some pure Aura. I turned on my heels. He turned as well.

His face was the shinniest of all. He had all that, radiating auburn hair,a Frank face, that non oncological stodgyness in his throat, what was it called... Some apple... Didn't matter. His eyes were no more than pearls.Time seemed to have stopped . I forgot my purpose...... And watched him.... I was infatuated..

To be continued........
