Chapter 1
Sometimes, you wish you had not said or done certain things. However, with almost certainty, when one is at the blink of despair, with so many things happening at once, they think of all the things that they could have done, rather than the things that they have done in their life.
The chances that you let slip away and the words that you wished you had said...... slowly forming into regrets.
The mind wanders to thoughts that bring happiness to one's soul. Such as the warmth of another's embrace and the smile of one's true love. These wonderful and delightful memories...... you wonder if you could bring it with you to your next destination, wherever that may be.

Chris's eyelids were heavy, and he struggled to open his eyes. Every time he managed to open them, they just kept falling shut. Everything was white and bright. His vision was severely blurred and his mind a hazy mess. Chris's ears were ringing, and he could hear nothing else. The ringing went on and on with no signs of stopping.
He felt his body heavy, like a rock was weighing down on him. He couldn't move a muscle, he was too weak.
Paralyzed on the ground. He couldn't move. He couldn't feel. His eyes adjusted to the light and he could see that the sky was above him. There were clear skies. It was a beautiful day to be out......
Chris noticed someone's shadow that fell on him from his left. He struggled to move his head slowly to his left. A figure of a girl kneeling beside him came into picture.
He looked up at the girl. Chris could tell that she has been crying, her eyes were swollen red. Her tears were falling non-stop. Chris wanted desperately to comfort the crying girl, he wanted to hug her, to tell her not to worry but when he opened his mouth to speak, not even a gasp could escape.
In between sobs, she said something, but Chris couldn't hear it, in fact, he couldn't hear the ringing sound from earlier anymore. Everything around him fell into complete and utter silence.
When did it all suddenly go silent? Chris hadn't notice.
He watched as the girl, desperately holding back tears, lifted his left hand with both her hands and placed it on the left side of her chest. He could see that his hand that she was holding onto was shaking terribly. Paying close attention, he realised that it wasn't his hand that was shaking, it was the girl's. In fact, her entire body was trembling.
Chris stared at his hand on her chest and imagined her heartbeat. How it must be beating fast and full of life. Chris could hear the beating of his heart. Slow and faint, as if to indicate that he was slowly fading into nothingness.
With every passing second, Chris's vision was blurring, his eyelids were growing heavier. He knew he no longer had control over them. He mouthed something and made one last attempt to look at the girl before he once again faded into darkness.
