Helping People Is A Process Read Count : 71

We cannot always connect with others right away when we try to help them. When I was a hospital chaplain, I met a man who was very hostile toward having me talk to him. It took almost a week of just stopping by with a superficial greeting before I could get to having an actual conversation with him. It may have been he was testing me to see if I had the fortitude and caring to keep trying.

People don't always follow through when they promise to help someone in whatever capacity. Sometimes people promise just to get people off their back.

So you need to build trust in those you try to help. In our world, trust is a hard commodity to come by. If you have an attitude of caring, you will show people you are truly there for them and are dependable.

Pray as you meet with others who need help and God will show you the best way. He has the perfect wisdom to give us an insight into the real needs of others, not just what they tell us or that shows on the surface.
