#463 NOT OLD YET Read Count : 143

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
You say you are getting older.
Your bones are starting to ache.
You can’t pick up a bolder
For fear your back will break.

Your chest is hanging longer
Although it doesn’t reach the floor.
And knobs or handles now are
Too hard to open on a door.

Your dinner takes so long to chew
And milk splashes onto the table.
And juggling three jobs at once
You find you are no longer able.

Your children are always yelling
Yet you don’t know what they say.
By the time you get something out
It seems it’s time to put it away.

The crossword puzzles in the papers
Are now the highlight of your day.
If you can fill in half the words,
You still have your mind, you say.

Since all this is just too much for
Someone your age to understand,
Just be happy it’s your birthday
And I hope it will be just grand.
