I could open a box as big as a house
Or undo wrappings as small as a mouse
Whether the bow be large or small
Or a great big gift or none at all
Something I’ve wished for could be inside
Or something I’ve searched for far and wide
And then again maybe it’s not a thing
That would make my anxious heart sing
None of it matters when I think of the giver
I’m just so pleased it wasn’t a package of liver
I’m so glad to have you for a friend
There is no other gift that can transcend
