Chapter Three: The Escape

I began thinking that there had to be a way out of this horrible place. I stood up slowly and faced the door. I told him I had to use the restroom, but he just laughed humourously as if it were the funniest thing he has ever heard. I slid back down, and looked around the room. I remembered the mirror across the room. I crawled over to the mirror, and pulled myself up. I punched the mirror with all of my force. I felt the pain in my head again, and fell back down. I looked over to the door and saw him looking in. He just shrugged and said,
"Oh well... Now you can't see how beautiful I made you."
I took a small sharp piece of glass, and a lager sharper piece too. I used the little one to pick the lock. It opened, but I don't think he heard me because he didn't even react at all. He just continued to work on her. I slowly and silently opened the door, and snuck over to him. I took the larger piece of glass and stabbed him in his back. He screamed and hunched himself forward. He tried to take it out of his back, but it was out of his reach. I quickly ran over to my sister, and got her off the table.
"Sissy!" She said happily with tears of pain running down her face.
"Shhh! Hurry and run upstairs. Go, go!" I whispered to her.
She turned and ran up the stairs. I staggered up slowly, and she turned to help. As we reached the top of the stairs, I could hear our father yelling out of pain and rage. We ran out of the house and across the street to tell Mrs. Hoarder. We kept knocking on the door, but she must've not been there. We ran down the street, and headed for the police station. But as we were on our way there, the entire town seemed to be empty, and rundown. It just looked... Dead. There was nobody here. We made it to the station, but all the lights were out, and the windows were all broken.
"Sissy, where is everyone?" She said with a sad, yet confused look on her face.
"I-I don't know Kay," I said "but we will have to leave town. It's all dead here... There's no one left. No animals or anything... No life... Nothing. And we are also being hunted by our father. So..."
"Sissy... Look!" She said in a scared tone, and turned to point down the street at our father walking weakly, looking around for us.
"Let's go!" I said quietly, as we ran the other way. We were running for hours, and when it hit night, we ended up in the middle of the woods. We were both very tired, and my head hurt worse than words could describe. We figured that it would be a great place to rest, since we were both exhausted and we seemed to be far enough from him. We layed down, and star-gazed for a while until we fell asleep. "Good night sissy..." She said as she drifted off to sleep. "Good night Kay..." I responded quietly.
