We’re running together side by side
Children coming may slow our stride

Pushing coaches, bicycles, then
In a car off and running again

Over the years sharing our dreams
Sometimes realized, sometimes schemes

Whatever our life has often meted
We've often whetted, though abetted

The caring of a loyal friend
A glowing friendship with no end
