482 WAITING FOR THE SUNSHINE Read Count : 105

Category : Poems

I’m sitting in bed and can’t get up.
I can’t get my food or even fill a cup.

The weather is sunny and I want to go out.
I’m stuck inside, surgery is what it’s about.

But so soon they get you up and on your feet.
They don’t want you to get blisters on your seat.

I’ll master the cane after the walker.
Although I’m in bed I can still be a talker.

So come visit with me even for a short while
My latest bedtime attire sure will be beguile.

You’ll help my time pass quickly and then
The sunshine will be within my grasp again.
