Ashes To Ashes Read Count : 92

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
Sifting through life’s smoldering ashes,
Left behind from when you left with a single sigh.
I seek the comfort I lost when life silenced your voice.
Like a cast, a way lost and drifting farther from shore.

As if running and getting nowhere,
Nothing left to numb this pain,
For it broke my weary heart,
Shattering my fragile soul.

Close my tear filling eyes,
Shutting out this worlds vain lies.
So much left to ask you,
As I face a world without you.

Years come and go,
The pain seeping way down low.
Deep into the hardening part of one’s soul.
For you were my light on distant shores.

History soon erases your story,
While time seemingly has stopped
Paused at that moment,
When you left this world.
