(Chapter five: "A new hope") The air was cold and the breeze was light. Superman and the woman stood motionless for a half hour and both ignored Kara who had tried a couple of times to get Clark to back down. She was wordless, confused, and lost. Raiden didn't have anything to say either he watched in silence. The mountains were covered in snow and where everybody was is a few thousand feet high. You could barely see the ground beneath fog and no birds had ventured by. Raiden leaned toward Supergirl and whispered. "Do you know her?" He over looked the two outfit-matched beings. Karas' face was puzzled in multi emotions of anger, sadness, questionable as she looked at Raiden attempting to speak without a word escaping. Superman took a step forward and studied the invaders reaction. She didn't budge. "No but I wish I'd known." Kara whispered. Superman raised his head looking at his target. She was brave, fearless, and looked so much like Kara. "I can stand here for decades until you say something..." Superman said smoothly. With a blink of an eye the woman reappeared behind him so quickly it made Raiden and Kara jump. "Hello." The woman greeted as she brought a fist down at Supermans' back sending him shooting straight down into the fog and she charged down after him. "She's so quick...!" Kara was in shock. "He didn't have a second to counter." "I didn't even see her move...she teleported." Raiden frowned. Before they thought of following the fight both Superman and the woman shot sky high and Kara watched as her cousin slammed his fists down from above. The woman disappeared at light speed back towards the ground with a very loud explosive sound. The side of the mountain had started collapsing informing Raiden and Kara that Superman sent the attacker straight down through the mountainside. Everything was quiet for a moment until a bright lightning bolt shot up at Superman. He backhanded it like it was a plastic toy. This was not one from the same race as him and Kara. The lightning was not something he could do, even if he could, he'd go insane. Kara covered her ears to protect herself from the loud sonic booms being created by the fight. Raiden took Kara back a couple hundred feet in case the fight dragged them in. Superman had been controlling the fight for a few minutes until his opponent vanished in mid air. The environment was destroyed in several areas, Clarks' battlesuit was torn in a few areas of his sleeves and lower back. He was looking in every direction. "Where did she go?! Did you see where she went?!" Superman called at Raiden and Kara. They shook their heads. He flew back to them cautiously. "She's way too fast I had her though but...she's gone." He said breathlessly. "You took serious damage and how could you be breathless?" Kara asked with a smile. "She hits hard enough you can actually feel it for a change. Did you see that lightning?" He stretched himself. "I seen it with Supergirl....lightning is a deadly weapon. Did she say anything during your feud?" Raiden stood crossarmed. "No," Superman began. "She called me by my other world name though. We need to get back to the League immediately. She is a lot more advanced than I am and I'm embarrassed to say that." The laughter and conversations died when Superman Kara and Raiden walked through the doors. Everybody stared at Supermans' marked up apparel. "What the hell happened to him?" Aquaman asked as he stood up. "We have company someone who has different abilities, superspeed, and strength beyond my train of thought..." Superman gazed around the room. Wonder Woman and Aquaman gave each other a nervous look. She turned to Superman. "Was it the God?" She asked. Superman shook his head. "No it's a female and has a matching battlesuit to mine and hers. I am immune to pain but every hit I took seemed to drain my energy dramatically." He shook his head in frustration and slammed his fists carefully on a table looking down. He was bested by an individual he'd never seen and it was the first time he'd ever been mauled. Who could she be? Is she from my home? He thought to himself. Bruce Wayne laid a hand on Supermans' shoulder. "You're with us now tell us what happened." His voice was mellow with curiosity. "Not now but in time you'll all see her. This is my fight I don't need anybody to get involved she's dangerously strong and made me look like a joke." Clark looked in Bruces' eyes.
