When you want to self harm, try one of these:
•Scream as loud as you can 
• HIT a cushion/ throw a cushion against a wall
 • Kick a football against a wall • Squeeze ice really hard 
• Squeeze a stress ball
 • Tear up a newspaper/phone directory
 • Draw on the place you want to cut with red marker
• Stay in bed 
• Eat chocolate (or whatever)
 • Have an ‘emergency box’ with whatever helps you cope 
• Buy something special 
• Massage your hands / arms / feet (or the area you want to harm)
 • Stroke a pet / cuddle a teddy
•Post on web boards or try answering other people's posts. 
•Let yourself cry, even if it is hard.
 •Sleep, only if you are tired. 
•Do the exact opposite of what you really want to do. 
•Smile to at least 5 people. 
•Go somewhere very public. 
•Chew gum. 
•Blow up a balloon and pop 
•Pray or read Quran.
•Call your therapist or make an appointment with one. 
•Re-arrange a room. 
•Go to a public place. 
•Go to the grocery store and buy yourself some stuff. 
•Search for ridiculous things on the web. •Google youself. 
•Call 1-800-DONT CUT 
•Call 1-800-THERAPIST
