I can't remember
when I reached the bottom
But I know how the fall began
The memory
that should not have been forgotten
Turned to dust
and was lost to the desert sand

I can't remember
what struck me first
The lightning or the stones
Watch closely
Can you you see
my heart is about to burst
and cover you
in my cold crimson gore

I can't remember
when you stopped calling my name
But I know how much
the silence burns me inside
I don't think
your song will ever be sung again

I can't remember
carving our names upon the trees
or painting our face on the walls
So I'll have to resist laughing
when I see the bark bleed
Was it really our fault

I can't remember the tomb
we were locked away in
but I know they left a window
for the light to shine through
and a bow
so I could play my memories
on my only violin
For their meanings and origins
are ones I still pursue

I can't remember the time
or if there was even time at all
When I watched the stars cascade
I could feel myself fall too
