You may not believe this is true
But I know it is something I’ve lived thru

In the old days I’d jump up ready for the day
Now that I’m older in bed I’d rather stay

When I have an early appointment and must rise
I just can’t get Mr. Sandman out of my eyes

Sometimes I wake and roll over to see the clock
Just give me ten minutes I say as it goes tic tock

The clock rings and I say just ten minutes more
I’m not ready for the day that’s in store

Then fast asleep I am, so it seems
For then I wake up with a jolt of a dream

Sometimes I think someone calls me Jean
I feel a bit scared cause no one is seen.

Other times it sounds like a knock on the door
And other times I think the phone rang for sure

He hears none of these things my husband relates
But I’m sure glad that now I won’t be late

Is this God waking me so I won’t be late
Only He knows, but I get it first rate
