THESE WALLS

Most people look
But me they cannot see
Only these walls
That are all around me
Erasing their own fears
Stubbornly they flee
Making themselves unworthy
For my walls are not built
Out of brick, concrete, or stone
And they don't represent
Pain, hurt, or anger
Caused by people I've known
For most of my life
I've been on my own
I've been by myself
And I've been all alone
And those were the times
When my walls have grown
And as time passes by
I pray that someone will see
That my walls are just pictures
That are drawn around me
And they represent a hunger
A longing and the need
Of another's hand
To erase them from me
                    ~Diane Fzr-Tnbrk~

Sometimes I believe
That death can be
Someone forgetting
Just to touch me
              ~Anonymous Quote~
