Hustle, bustle, running in a crowd A desk full of papers scattered around No time for lunch, noise is so loud I can’t think, but here I’m bound The day rushes by as a list piles up But still it seems like forever More tea, No! coffee in my cup From this mess I must try to sever The “rat race” they call it, what I’m in I feel like in a maze, where do I go? Do I flee for my life, give in to a whim? Must leave a place where feelings can’t show The clock dings the five o’clock hour Will peace come to me at last? Gather this mess up into a tower And run from this place real fast © Copyright 2005.02.13 by Jean E. Gorney
