The sun had set a couple of hours earlier, setting the scene for yet another night of searching. The previous night he had turned up nothing of use, the one he sought was either at home or simply did not like the types of venue he had gone through. On this final night of his search he had chosen the northern part of the capital to continue his search. He had already gone through numerous pubs with no luck, but he kept an open mind. It was when he passed something known as a tube station that he felt the pull stronger than before. The sensation hit him like a bolt of lightning, briefly scrambling his senses to the point where he lost track of what he was doing. She was here, somewhere, amongst the crowd emerging from the building most likely. He paused to survey the humans, in a vain attempt to spot her amidst the faces. There were so many... an ocean of people flowing on to the street. The clothes diverted his focus, making him realise that wherever these people were going, it was going to be different to the places he had trawled through in his search so far. The materials alone ranged from leather to some shiny synthetic cloth which hugged the body leaving little to the imagination. Somewhere in that sea of black she hid, unaware of his presence. He wouldn’t recognise her face; her features changes every time. He needed to follow the unique energy she gave off, he needed to see her eyes. The fire in them always remained the same, radiating defiance and strength. A taste of her blood would prove it was her indefinitely, he would have to coax her away from the party for that. Separating her from anyone she was with was not going to be an issue. He knew that not even she would be able to resist him as long as he was careful not to reveal what he was. The issue was finding her. To pick her out of the crowd while she was in her current state was like finding a needle in a haystack. The same pull he felt to her energy, was simply not specific enough to guide him directly to her. The best he would be able to do is follow her to the general area she was in. While he was stood there scanning the faces leaving the station, he felt the energy start to move away from him. She was leaving the area... most of the people across the street were headed around the building, probably towards some hidden dance venue. He followed the crowd, sensing her energy come closer once again. She was definitely somewhere within the uniquely dressed gaggle of partygoers, completely unaware of the fact she was actually being hunted. He followed the crowd around the block and down an alley behind the station. The entrance to the club was hidden from the main road, but the queue leading towards the entrance clearly marked its location. He approached, his attire blending well with that of the revellers. At least he knew he would be able to get in without any questions being raised over his clothing. Upon entry he dropped paper money on the desk, and wandered deeper in. The energy had not moved away any further, leading him to believe she was somewhere in here, within the steadily grow in mass of bodies. The building had three floors for him to search and there seemed to be an abundance of females in this place; this was going to be harder than he had thought... It somewhat irked him that the pull he felt to her was not going to get any more specific. All he had to go on was the fact she was somewhere in here; no hint to point him to a specific floor, room or individual. For all he knew she could have been stood next to her and not have known it. Following a wide staircase, he entered the middle floor of the club, starting his frustrated mind before he took a more comprehensive look around. Sound washed over him as soon as the door had opened, rattling his insides relentlessly. The place was already packed, bodies swaying to the beat, groups of people drinking and laughing. Further in the room stood large, elevated cages with people dancing inside. The music was different too, he enjoyed it far more than that of the club’s down south. This was a place he could get used to very quickly, it was perfect not only to unwind but to hunt up a meal without being spotted. He was quick to spot a group of burly men skulking off to the side, seeming to be intently scanning the crowd of revellers. It was clear they were looking for someone in particular, the way their eyes briefly paused at each face before moving on to the next, there was no denying what they were up to. They stood out to him like a light in a cavern, clearly not partygoers but here for some other reason. His delight at finding a place such as this faded marginally. He had crossed paths with their sort before, and he knew he would have to act with caution to pass them by unnoticed. Their sort were an eternal thorn in the side of every inhuman creature in existence. They were tough, for humans, focused and dogged in their efforts to ensure the general population stayed safe from anything that came scratching at the door in the darkness of night. This endeavour had just become both awkward and somewhat dangerous. He stopped at the bar and bought a beer to take with him. He may as well enjoy himself a little while he searched. The beer would help him blend in with the amped up crowd at the same time, keeping any unwanted attention off him. The last thing he needed was for these individuals to take a particular interest in him. Slowly he crossed the dance floor, carefully avoiding any unnecessary attention, to stand in a darkened corner with a slightly elevated floor. It seemed to be a good vantage point for him to scan the crowd to see if he could find her. A couple of females took an interest in him as he passed them; the pair smiled at him in invitation, evidently hoping to get to know him a little better. He treated them both to a sly grin, not stopping to talk. He was not looking for a distraction just yet, although he didn’t dismiss the women completely. They would prove to have a use later on in the night when he got hungry. No point in chasing off prey when it approached so willingly of its own accord. Settling in the shadows he leaned back and began observing the crowd. The women in the cages got out, only for others to take their place. It seemed anyone could use them, a handy snipped of information. As a new song started playing his eyes were drawn to a pair of young women in one if the cages. Their dance intrigued him, it made it seem like they were lovers with how provocative it was. He knew that wasn’t the case, the behaviour of women had changed over the years. He was sure they had an ulterior motive for drawing so much male attention to themselves. One of the pair caught his eye in particular. His breath caught in his throat and his mind spun. For the briefest moment he saw the one he had been seeking, looking back at him with that cruel yet seductive glare he had grown to love. He could almost hear her beckoning him over to her... No. This was not her, it was just another human female. The girl's red and black hair had reminded him of her. The similarity between her and the female he wanted instantly caused him to desire her, even if it would be for a few brief hours. Maybe some time with her might pacify him for the time being, just until he found the girl he had come here for. Her dance with the other girl was more than enough to whet his appetite. Getting her away from the unavoidable crowd of admirers might prove somewhat of a challenge. As predicted when they exited the cage they were swarmed with compliments, accepting free drinks from foolish men. The drinks seemed to buy the girls’ time and granted the men a chance for a solo dance with them. Interesting... Perhaps he too would partake in buying a moment of her attention, it would be enough for him to worm his way into her head and make her more than receptive to anything he suggested. He intended to have a little fun before carrying out orders the next day, she would suffice nicely. He watched her head out of the back exit for a bit of air, perfect opportunity to grab a drink for her and deliver it upon her return... He grinned to himself. Why not, it wasn’t like he was forbidden from having a good time and he needed an outlet for all this pent up energy so badly...
