I looked at my wallet. $50. I thought really hard for what to do with this. Buy myself lunch, or a gift for my little girl. It was hard.
"Evelyn." I thought. I nod my head and went to a phone booth.

"Can you please give Evelyn the phone. It's important." I said.
"Fine," snapped my ex-wife, "Evelyn, Daddy wants you! Don't call this house again." She gave the phone to Evelyn and left. Silence for awhile. A long time.
"Hi beautiful." I said.
"Hi Daddy, I miss you," she said.
"I miss you too, I have a question for you sweety," I said calmly looking around, " what would you like for Christmas?" Again silence fell, she thought about it real hard.
"Painting of you, Daddy." She answered. I looked at my wallet again, I nod my head.
"Okay, have to go Evelyn. Bye, love you sweety." I said hanging up.
"Bye Daddy." She said crying a little.

Once again, I looked at my wallet, $50 in it. She wants a painting of me. I looked around. I walked all the way to Walmart, I looked for the manager of the store. It took a couple hours but found him. I pulled him aside and asked him how to get a painting done here, and the cost.

After the talk I left. They did portraits, that's what I was looking for, but it was $5 over my budget. I was sad. I couldn't get the one thing my daughter wanted. The next day I went back, I talked the manager into cutting it $5 down.
"Sir, I'll do anything if you just let me do it for $50, that's all I have, I promise." I begged.
"Ok, only if you do something for me." said the manager. I nodded my head. I love my daughter so much that'll do anything for her. Especially since this'll be the last Christmas I'm going to be with her.
"I love you, Evelyn." I thought in my head.
