Today was the day! Her birthday which meant... She is finally gonna see him! She finished the final touches with her make up, doing a fabulous winged eyeliner and toping it off with clear lip gloss. She studies her clothing in the mirror quite happing with the blue jeans with some holes in them and nice deep purple shirt which truly complimented her eyes she took a deep breath, "Ok Lyla. You can do this." she grabs her backpack, she always refused to have a purse. She was weird and she knew it. 

She jogs down the stairs and smiled weakly as her parents say, "Happy Birthday kiddo!" 

Lyla waves it off and said, "It is no big deal?"

"No big deal? You are an adult now Ly." her mom said, "You sure you don't want to have a small party here?" 

"No that's ok. Chloe already planned me a big party so I am staying at her place." 

"Alright just be careful." her father said. Really? All she wanted to do was give him the finger. How dare he act as if everything was alright. 

Scumbag. 

She instead nods and said, "I will.  Love you."

Lyla barely makes it into the bus and she pants slightly for a moment, hoping to catch her breath and she mumbles, "That was fucking close..." 

She then excitedly reached for her phone, texting Jace immediately:

Lyla: Made it on the train! 

Jace: Really!?! That is awesome! Can't wait to see you in a few hours baby doll!

That little nickname he had for her always makes her heart skip a beat. It is like they were meant for each other. The past couple months of their chatting and spending endless amount of time on the phone... He made her feel so alive... It is exciting!
