Nicholas had  his first day at Bible School.
He is only four but he is wise beyond his years.
He noticed that the rules had changed as he
Came in looking so tired and full of tears.

Have you been through a war his Mom said?
Bible School is supposed to be a lot of fun.
You come home looking  “ half dead.”
So tell me just what all day have you done.

His reply was simply, all we did was work.
I get so much more energy when I play,
But at Bible School we had so much to learn
Time went slow, it was such a long, long day.

Did you get out on the playground, she asked.
Yes, we did go out there for just a little while.
I bet tomorrow the day will go faster, just wait.
As Nicholas sat down to play his own style.

He soon found it fun to learn as well as play
As the next day he got used to the new routine.
And at the end of the week at the program held
Singing and showing his projects, he beamed.
