As the roses in my garden bloom, Some right now; some not so soon, Some of red and pink so bright, Others darkened as covered by night, And so my friends are numbered too Some I’ve had forever; some just new Some sparkle with a smile so bright Others are there in the darkest light Like picking a rose in my garden today I chose a friend who knows how to display The love and caring that we both share Of a relationship glowing in the sunny air “Will you be my friend?” I simply ask As in the sunshine here we sit and bask An arrangement of blooms that sway In the gentle breezes of this special day © Copyright 2003.01 by Jean E.
